Howdy Ya’All ! Today at the ranch we are going to be looking at the Behringer 1622FX Mixer. I just got one of these and use it for podcasting and recording my guitar. I did not say singing, that would start a lot of edogs a barking up a tree. Well, on with the review.

The Behringer 1622FX Mixer has some very nice features to it. I will include a picture and the specifications below for you:

This is a top view of the Behringer 1622FX Mixer. You will find that it has room to expand in the future. It is a good idea to get the mixer you want and look into the future for how you want to expand your home recording studio. Things like how many mics might you be using, how many people are you going to have with a mic? Or how many instruments are you going to mic or are they just going to get plugged directly into the mixer? That is where it is a good idea to keep in mind how many channels the mixer has and how many you might need in future expansion of your home recording studio. One thing I learned the hard way when I first strted getting into mixers was a thing they call Phantom Power. What’s that you say? It is used for condenser microphones. They require Phantom Power as where the Dynamic Microphones do not. Yes, just to let you know, it does not hurt to have the Phantom Power on if you are using a Dynamic Mic. It will not help the Dynamic Mic at all but, it will not damage it either. Of course, it is nice to have both types of mics because you might need a different type of sound. Continue Reading
