Easily Hiding Desktop Icons for Screen Recording

Most people tend to use there desktop to store shortcuts to programs, files they are working on, downloaded files, and much more. This causes us to have an unsightly desktop. A desktop that for us who create screencasts can be distracting to the viewer. To provide the best screencast you want to have a clean desktop with an image or better yet a plain background color that does not distract from the actual video.

Image-0026Well there is an easy way to hide your icons. Just Right-Click on your desktop and then move your mouse over “Arrange Icons By”. On the new submenu you will see “Show Desktop Icons”. Click on it to remove the check mark. This hides all of your desktop icons.

To bring them back just do the same thing as above, but click on “Show Desktop Icons” to replace the check mark. Your desktop icons will appear.

Hope this was helpful.
